Enablers of competencies
The Challenge
Job profiles within EES were not clearly defined. This sometimes caused a lack of clarity about the competencies and responsibilities required for a position. As a result, it was difficult to determine who was the right employee for a particular position, employees did not know what to do to advance, and EES ran into challenges in determining employee and team performance.
The Solution
Niels and Marjolein worked with EES to create a comprehensive competency dictionary. In it, the most important competencies for the positions technical manager, operational asset manager and strategic asset manager are described in detail and divided into three levels. This competency dictionary allows managers and employees to compare their competency level with the required competencies for a specific position. This not only helps monitor progress and achieve goals, but also promotes professional growth and staff motivation.
