Enablers of due diligence

Warmtebedrijf Ede provides 24,000 homes and businesses with green heat through its Smart Green Heat Network, which is one of the most sustainable heat networks in the Netherlands with 85% renewable energy. By using local, renewable sources such as regional biogas, residual heat and solar energy, Warmtebedrijf Ede strives to accelerate the energy transition in the region and provide a sustainable alternative to natural gas.

The Challenge

Ramon was hired to perform due diligence (zero measurement) on the Smart Green Heat Grid of Warmtebedrijf Ede. This consisted of making a thorough analysis of the existing work processes and to assess the state of the installations. In this way, operations could be optimized and further improvements made possible.

The solution

As program manager, Ramon conducted thorough due diligence, translating the results into a plan of action. This began with a desk study, followed by an on-site inspection to verify the findings. The conclusions of the analysis further led to the development of a maintenance program aimed at transitioning from corrective to preventive maintenance. In addition, Ramon played a key role in building a skilled team, supported by stable management.

Ramon:

"With this type of assignment, it is crucial to set the right priorities from the beginning. Properly done due diligence lays the foundation for a sustainable and efficient heat grid, and it was nice to be able to contribute to that."
