As partners, we undertook a project to investigate and implement the work permit process at Equans Energy Solutions (EES). The goal was to ensure that work is performed in a structured and safe manner, minimizing risks.

At the beginning of the project, the main challenge was identified: Does it really make sense to move to a work permit process within the EES department? The company already had sound safety policies in place, but lacked a standardized and formalized process for managing work permits within EES. This sometimes led to ambiguity about who was responsible for approving certain work and what safety measures needed to be taken.

The study quickly showed that implementing a structured work permit process at EES would indeed be valuable. Indeed, it could significantly improve safety, clarify responsibilities and better manage the risks associated with work activities. Therefore, Niels focused on creating a customized work permit process that would fit perfectly with Equans' existing business processes.
