Meppel Energy

JORD is a heat supplier that also operates sustainable collective energy systems. In the "Meppel Energy" project, JORD experienced problems around customer satisfaction and maintenance costs. Peter worked with JORD to make a number of interventions to optimize plant performance and improve customer satisfaction.

The Challenge

In the Meppel Energy project, JORD encountered some challenges that needed to be addressed. Customers were not satisfied with the delivery of heat. Conversely, the return temperature did not meet contractual requirements. High maintenance costs were also noted and there were several problems with the delivery sets in homes.

The Solution

Together with JORD, Peter addressed these challenges project by project and various solutions were implemented. First, the contractual requirements were checked and confirmed. Also, the non-compliant return temperature was addressed and appropriate measures were taken to meet the requirements. To reduce high maintenance costs, Peter made savings suggestions. These include enlarging the salt tank for water softening and creating an external setup for a change container.

For the problems with the delivery sets, Peter recommended implementing a demi-installation to clean the water. This stopped the filters from clogging and the valves from functioning correctly. By comparing the design conditions and the current situation, the installation could be fine-tuned. The plant's performance improved. This resulted in higher customer satisfaction and more efficient operation of the system.

Peter:

"It's fun to work with a practical problem where solutions offer immediate results."
