The Baron van Wassenaer Park
The Challenge
The Baron van Wassenaerpark project began with a replacement process and modifications to the source system. However, during start-up it was found that the starting current of the heat source pump exceeded the permissible limit. As a result, the insulation of the sine filter between the variable speed drive and the pump melted. As a result, the plant could not be started up and heat could not be supplied.
The Solution
To determine the cause of the startup problem, we conducted an investigation. It turned out that the new variable speed drive was not set correctly for the specific well pump. Peter worked closely with the supplier to configure the correct settings, allowing the plant to be successfully commissioned. We also recommended replacing the fused sine filter, as there was too much uncertainty about its impact on the filter's life and reliability.
